★Cool Live&Lesson Enjoy Japanese flute★
Shinobue is a traditional musical instrument made of bamboo and has been used since ancient times for the festivals, a kagura (sacred music) and a shishimai (lion dance).
As a classical Japanese music, shinobue is used in kabuki and noh theaters as well as in a puppet theater along with shakuhachi, shamisen and hand-drums.

This course is conducted by Ikkan Fukuhara, a shinobue musician with more than 20 years of experience and who is also an ambassador of Miyajima Tourism. The lesson with shinobue live concert would definitely be your priceless experience.
In this course you will learn to handle a shinobue and play a traditional music「SAKURA」.
Playing flutes originally supposed to call God.
At Daisho-in temple with more than thousand years of history, you can enjoy a shinobue music, a unique timbre of prayer, joy and nostalgia which has been played over thousand years.
※English speaking guide is available.

Beauty of Japanese Clothing

The instructor performs in formal clothing hakama.

Also a hand drum, a unique traditional instrument will be played, and we expect that a joint performance of a hand drum and shinobue in formal clothing will make Japanese traditional culture more attractive.
