Even beginners can enjoy indigo dyeing and soil dyeing! Tenugui dyed with natural materials! With this plan, anyone can easily enjoy indigo dyeing and clay dyeing of tenugui. By using tie-dyeing, which involves tying and dyeing the fabric, gradation, folding, and other small ingenuity, you can create unexpectedly wonderful and original tenugui with fun patterns. The vibrant colors are also attractive, making it hard to believe that they are dyed with natural materials. The instructor will provide careful guidance, so even those who have never experienced dyeing can participate with confidence. You can take your completed work home on the same day, making it the perfect souvenir from your trip to Okinawa.
The materials used for dyeing are natural, such as Indian indigo and local soil. Indigo is an ancient Japanese color, a calming color that you will never get tired of. The soil is dyed with unique colors. Both are wonderful. "Thread" and "cloth" decorate our lives and envelop us in various ways, from clothing to interior design. We have successfully developed new threads from Okinawan plants such as hibiscus and okra. We also exhibit and sell original works such as cute cloth items from Nakijin Village. When you come to the workshop, please take your time to look around.
