Plan description

In Kyoto's long-established store "Yokoyama Bamboo Store" handling bamboo-based products sales and space production, you can experience traditional craftwork making using bamboo. In our plan, we will make "cha-cha (cha-cha)" used as a tea ceremony.

Challenge to make traditional tea utensils

We will make a chashaku using the Kyoto famous bamboo "Shiratake" as a material. A chashaku is a traditional tea utensils that scoops matcha in a tea bowl or a light tea bowl and transfers it to a bowl. First, use a knife to sharpen the shape to your liking, and finally use sandpaper to smooth it out. Take about 2 hours to finish the work.

Great for Kyoto-like souvenirs

The hand-finished work has a unique handmade taste that is not found in ready-made products. You can take it home that day, so it will be a great gift for parents who enjoy the tea ceremony. Please leave a wonderful memorial as a memory of sightseeing in Kyoto. You can also give a chashaku bowl as a gift as an option.

You can choose from two types of courses

For the normal standard course, you can make a chashaku from white bamboo, and if you choose the premium course, you can make it from stained bamboo, grained bamboo, rusted bamboo, and genuine soot bamboo.
