Various charms of Tohoku and Niigata
~SDG's Inquiry-Based Learning and Earthquake/Disaster Mitigation/Disaster Prevention Learning/Agricultural Experience~
Educational content for implementing “deep learning” unique to Tohoku and Niigata
To “learn” in Tohoku is to cultivate “the power to live in the present”.
Traveling is good for exploration!
Inquiry/Active Learning
Inquiry-type and active-learning-type school excursions improve students' "thinking power", "judgment power" and "expressive power" in order to respond to rapid social changes. It is also possible to incorporate SDGs-related learning elements.
(1) Assignment setting
Think about what you want to experience and what you want to learn on this excursion in order to realize an active excursion where you can think, act, and tackle yourself from a passive excursion just to see and go.
(2) Collection of information
Actively see, hear, and experience things at your travel destination, and fill in the gaps between your image of the area and prior information. By interacting with students of the same generation and asking them questions that they have thought about in advance, they will encourage them to notice and discover something.
(3) Sorting and analysis
By organizing and analyzing a lot of collected information, we can see the solution of the problem. "Why do you think so" and "Comparison with others" lead to your own problem solving.
④Summary/Expression
After organizing and analyzing the information, communicating it to others will clarify the thoughts of each person and lead to the discovery of further issues. You can power up.
We propose educational trips and experiences that lead to irreplaceable memories and the future.

2.Learning about earthquake disasters, disaster prevention, and mitigation
The first aim of disaster prevention education is to “be aware of the dangers of disasters, make daily preparations, and act to ensure one’s own safety based on accurate judgment according to the situation.” The second is to be willing to contribute to the safety of other people, groups, and communities during and after a disaster. The purpose of this course is to enable students to understand the basics and fundamentals of the local natural environment, disasters, and disaster prevention.
======================== Don't forget 3.11 Connect to learning for the future ============= =========== Former Nobiru Elementary School, which was damaged in the Great East Japan Earthquake and closed its curtains, has been reborn as a disaster prevention experience-based lodging facility 《KIBOTCHA》
It is a tour around town with storytellers of townspeople. While visiting the Reconstruction Museum and seeing how the town is recovering, I will talk about the situation at the time of the earthquake, evacuation life, and the "awareness" and life that I gained because I experienced the reconstruction after that. If you have time and the weather is fine, you can land on Horaijima Island, which is said to be the model for “Hyokkori Hyotanjima”.
3. Minpaku (experiencing farm life)
It is a “farming trip” that allows you to interact with people in rural areas and experience their lives. Would you like to experience rural life and farming? Experience wood-chopping, farm work, etc.
Why don't you experience the life of a farmer by making kiritanpo and doing farm work while staying at a farm inn? We offer experiences and hospitality that will make you want to come back to Odate, interacting with the locals! At Odate's farmhouse guest house, you can experience making authentic kiritanpo with a farmer's mother, and relax your body slowly at the nearest hot spring.

It is a plan where you can experience farming while interacting with farmers. You can experience seasonal farm work with farmers, such as making seedlings in spring, planting seedlings in May, and harvesting vegetables in summer. The experience and the crops to be harvested depend on the farmer where the experience is held and the crops of the season, so please look forward to it.
