Arborists have a global organization called ISA (International Society of Arboriculture). Originally, tree climbing was a technique reserved for some arborists, but in 1983, Peter Jenkins established Tree Climbers International (TCI) in Atlanta, Georgia so that the general public could enjoy it as a recreational activity.
