Don't confuse Spanish corrida with Japanese bull sumo. From the Edo period onward the people would like to observe bulls sparring in the fields. Now there are six prefectures in Japan, where this centuries old tradition is continued. The sound of the horns colliding with each other reverberates throughout the venue. To protect the bulls from injuries the sparring stops immediately, when one bull gives up and runs away.Due to COVID-19, it is difficult now to go on a trip and to see Bullsumo in Uwajima, however we want everyone from all over the world to experience the power of Bullsumo. This is why a new idea and challenge was born to let people from around the world see and enjoy a broadcast online. Wherever you are, Uwajima's bull sumo tradition is just one click away.
The easiest way to experience this event, which occurs only few times a year.
Get an introduction to bull sumo, by your navigator, before the tournament begins and receive background information about the participating bulls.
Admission to the bull sumo tournament is 2,500 yen per person in advance. Visit Uwajima to feel the power of bull sumo with all your senses.
