A small workshop located 4.8km east of Himeji Castle, a 15-minute drive away.
How about a pottery experience between sightseeing?
It is a plan of 2 hours experience time.
In the pottery experience, you can make general tableware (tea bowls, vases, dishes etc.).
It is an electric kiln that uses Bizen ware clay or clay blended with Bizen ware clay and red soil.
The baked color will be ashes (hidden) or strawberry (hidasaki).
Approximately 1 kg of clay can be used! There is no limit to the number of works, but it takes less than 2 hours to make a "special dish". After making it on the hand wheel, center it, scrape it with a canna, turn it over, finish it up to a hill, and put your own signature. After production, it is thoroughly dried and then fired.
<Ash cover> During firing, the ash of firewood hangs on the work and creates a pattern. <Scarlet> Wrap straw around the work and bake it so that it does not come into direct contact with flames or ashes. A beautiful scarlet pattern is created. Both are typical Bizen ware colors! This is one of the attractions of Bizen ware, which cannot be the same as two.
