Kamakura is a popular tourist destination for Japanese and foreign visitors. It is a place where many Japanese traditions have been preserved along with nature. And it was a birthplace of the Kamakura shogunate known as the samurai regime.
In this program, you can visit the blacksmith workshop that is operated in Kamakura by direct descendant of legendary sword master Masamune. Also you can appreciate and actually hold a Japanese sword which is, at present, regarded as a fine masterpiece of Art. This program is conducted with Japanese only. Foreign language explanation is an optional service.
"Masamune" was a swordsmith active in the 14th century and at present "Masamune" represents Japanese swords. You can visit the blacksmith workshop in Kamakura operated by Mr. Tsunahiro Yamamura, a descendant of Masamune of the 24th generation.
Japanese swords are widely known, but only a few people actually held the sword in their hands.
During your visit to the workshop, you have an opportunity to hold a Japanese sword in your hands and appreciate its beauty in the sense of Arts.
"In this experience, children in orphanages and young people who have left the facility are working as support staff. The participation fee received from everyone will also be used for education of support staff and part-time work. Children in the facility (children aged 2 to 18 who cannot live with their parents) "
