Plan description

Let’s visit Mido, the main hall of Daisho-in, which is considered to be the oldest temple in Miyajima of Aki.
We will see a historical Fudo Myo-o, which is the Important National Cultural Property and the Eleven-faced Kannon Bosatsu known as a Honjibutsu (the main Buddha) of Itsukushima Myojin.
Monks will give a detailed explanation while guiding you around.

※English interpreter is available and all participants will be given free English guide books 'Daihonzan Daisho-in Temple of Miyajima Misen'.

Visit temples guided by monks

A monk talks about the syncretism of Shinto and Buddhism in Itsukushima and the origins of Daisho-in Temple, and carefully explains the nuances that are difficult to convey in guide books. We will also have a question and answer session, so please feel free to ask more questions.

A tour of Honbo with 1000 years of history, weight, formality, and numerous important cultural properties. It will be a time to feel the depth and real thrill of Japanese tradition and Buddhist culture. The main entrance to Daishoin is the Niomon gate, and the 98 stone steps that lead to the upper precincts of the temple. The occasional ringing of bells and the chirping of birds.
