It is a tour guide tour plan of the "songwriting technique" preservation society which can enjoy the process explanation of the stitch fabric and the appreciation of the work etc. Stitch texture is one of the Nishijin textiles and has the oldest history among them. We do not use any machine, weave with only hands and feet and sensibility of craftsmen. The founder of "The Schedule of Musicians" is a traditional craftsman of the Ruiho monogokeno. You can see the works of such traditional craftsmen and craftsmen or where weaving. It is a valuable opportunity to experience "Nishijin nail scratch binding", one of the world's highest art works.
You can enjoy the state of the workshop and the works slowly. We will explain the process and features of tapestry through demonstrations and videos. There are about 16 looms (hand machines) in the workshop, and some can be woven by 4 to 8 people at a time. Compared to other woven fabrics, the warp threads are stretched more strongly in the binding weaving, so the warp threads are repelled with a nail scraper or a shuttle. At that time, you can hear a pleasant tone like playing a koto at the boundary between the warp and the part that has become the fabric.
